About Us
St. Pete Volleyball Club will be entering its third year of competition in the Spring of 2012.  Founded by Mark and Courtney Draper, the club has been established to train and develop young volleyball athletes in Pinellas County and surrounding areas.  We are committed to providing our athletes with excellent technical and physical training to achieve their highest potential.

The club will offer advanced technical training while utilizing resources made available by a nationally recognized women's collegiate volleyball program, which has advanced to the NCAA Division II National Tournament four of the past five years.

At this time we offer indoor programs for junior girls between the ages of 11 and 18.  Tryouts are in the months of October and November with practices beginning in December or January depending on the team.  All teams will participate in 5-8 tournaments between January and May.

We also offer camps and clinics in July and August and private or semi-private lessons are generally offered year-round.

St. Pete Volleyball Club uses the McArthur Center (gymnasium) on the campus of Eckerd College as our primary practice facility.  We also utilize local St. Petersburg recreation centers and high school gyms when needed.

We invite you to take a look around our site and contact us with any questions that you might have.

Courtney Draper- Club Director

Courtney Draper enters her eighth season at the helm of the Eckerd College Volleyball program.  Entering the 2011 season, Draper has put together a string of the most successful seasons Eckerd College has ever seen on the hardwood.  The Tritons have set a high goal to reach the NCAA Tournament once again in 2011.

In 2009 Coach Draper guided the Tritons to their first ever appearance in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.

En route to the squad's third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in 2008, Coach Draper added to the history of Eckerd Volleyball by earning her 100th career victory.

In 2007, the Tritons earned their second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament while boasting a 23-11 overall record, the second best in program history.  Eckerd also finished the season with the highest number of wins ever recorded in conference play, finishing 9-7 on the season.  Her 2006 Tritons posted a 21-14 overall record , third best in EC history and finished tied for third in the Sunshine State Conference, their highest finish ever.  The most amazing accolade Coach Draper claimed as a result of such an impressive year was that the Tritons finished fourth in the NCAA Division II South Region and were invited to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.

Draper played four seasons at Florida State University.  During her playing career at FSU, Draper (formerly Dipert) helped lead the Seminoles to an Atlantic Coast Conference championship in 1998 and NCAA Tournament appearances in 1997 and 1998.  During her senior year, Draper was the recipient of the Golden Nole, awarded to the team's most valuable player.

She earned a bachelor's degree in Sports Management and completed her Master's degree in Sports Administration at Florida State in 2001.  Draper spent two seasons as an assistant at Florida State.  After the 2001 season, Draper accepted an assistant job at Duke University where she served as the program's recruiting coordinator and Director of Duke Volleyball Camps.

In 2003, Draper received her first head coaching position at Jacksonville University, where the Dolphins went 15-15 and reached the Atlantic Sun Tournament for a third consecutive year.  The then-25-year-old native of Lisle, IL was the youngest head coach in NCAA Volleyball in 2003.
